The second edition of the Champion Bowl Tournament is scheduled for August 5 to August 7, 206 at the clay courts of Ghana Tennis Club in Adabraka. The juniors’ tournament serves as entry platform into the World Masters Champion Bowl, an international junior tournament held annually in Turkey. Junior players from all over the country are invited to pitch their strength and skills against each other to determine who represent Ghana in 2016.

Tournament organizers, Zion Management Africa Limited believes as Champion Bowl Tournament becomes a regular feature on Ghanaian junior tennis calendar it will add to development of tennis talents.

The 2016 edition has corporate support from Wilson international Sports brand, Mama Vits, Indomie, Befresh Water Company, Special Ice Company and SIC lifesaving and loans.

The 3-day event will have boys and girls between the ages of 12, 14 and 16. Semi-finalist and winners will be receive product from headline sponsor Wilson and souvenirs, winners from each age category will embark on a trip to Turkey to participate in the 2016 World masters Champion Bowl Tournament in October. .

CEO of Zion Management Africa Limited (ZMAL), Mr. David Derhnick-Coffie in an interview with tennisgh.com said he is confident the tournament will attract many tennis players “This is the second year in the Champion Bowl Tournament and it’s been very successful and we hope to improve on the success annually”. He added that “Tennis, like other sports in Ghana can serve as a unifying force for people of different sociopolitical and ethnic backgrounds and it’s for this reason that we seek to use the Champion Bowl Tennis Tournaments to restore juvenile Tennis in Ghana”.

Mr David Cofie further asked that tennis is support by government and corporate bodies to ensure sustained tennis development in Ghana, “Am pleading to Government and our corporate bodies to support Ghana Tennis, because Ghana has many young tennis talents” .
