Ghacem Tema Tennis Club shows its superiority over Ghacem Takoradi winning 12-5 in a first round encounter a special tournament between the two clubs in Tema. The tournament which is witness twice in a year has seen Tema winning all the last six meeting.
The hosts won eight singles clashes and four doubles games as against three singles and two doubles wins for Takoradi.
The tournaments was played in two sessions Ghacem Company staff members and other members who have registered for the Ghacem clubs both Tema and Takoradi
In the Women doubles Linda/Kate started for the host impressively with a 7-3 victory over Takoradi’s Lucy/Ekua.
And in the Men’s division the host, Tema seemed even more comfortable, as David Naawo who is a staff member gave them the perfect start to the Men’s Singles with a 7-1 win over Alex Ntimaoh.
Club members result: In Men’s singles Takoradi’s Aziz Iddidrisu 7-5 win over Boat Oppong, Aggrey R. Kweyyir 7-5 defeats over Samuel Oduro and Yalley Kofi 7-4 win over Agyeman Bruno Frank dominance was short-lived as wins by Isaac Titriku, Isaac Bempo, Abraham Yamoah, Kwesi Junior, Frank Yates, over Kofi Ampong, Darlington Stephen, Tanoh Arnold, Paa Mensah and Dan Agyekum-hene respectively set the tone for the comprehensive thrashing in the singles games.
The doubles were also to follow similar pattern as the hosts run away with a four wins out of six games.
Tema looked to have won over the watching crowd with Staff members starting the doubles as Gabby/ David beats Aggrey/ Raymond 7-4.
Other Club Members results: Titriku/Bruno winning 7-6(2) over Kofi/Attah, and Babo/Abraham outwitting Dan/ Paa 7-4. But the Takoradi Ghacem Club’s Yalley/Leswe 7-5 victory over Patrick/Alfred and Philip/Tanoh 7-3 win over Bempo/Fiifi put smiles on the travelling fans.
