There will be fireworks at the 37 Officers Mess Tennis court-Accra this weekend as Army Officers Mess Tennis Club(AMTEC) hosts 4th Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in what can be described as an intriguing return encounter to determine who would have the ultimate bragging rights.
Their first encounter in Kumasi resulted in a stalemate when 4th Garrison were leading 6-5 with the last two matches on go, disrupted by the rains.
The host will parade a formidable team led by Club captain Felix Kabutey with some top players: Brig. Generals Albert Adu, and Salifu Yakubu, DCOP George Mensah, Lt Colonels Selorm Amengor and Richard Akotoh, His Lordship Justice Edward Asante.
Other players include the Ghana tennis federation president Isaac Abe Duah, Sampson Sayibu, Mr. Samuel Addo-Quaye and High Court judge Anthony Oppong.
The away team also led by Club captain Jona Quartey will have players like Brig: General Alhassan, President S.S. Abebe and Kwesi Dekyi.
The rest of the away team includes Vice President of Ghana Tennis Federation, Samuel Ampadu-Kyei (Kyikyiss), Rev Fr James Boachie Agyeman, Isaac Owusu, Maxwell Owusu, Afum Baffoe and Robert Tetteh.
Speaking to Tennisgh.com, Chairman of AMTEC Justice Edward Asante said, looking at the preparation put in by his team, 4th Garrison will find it tough winning even a single match come the 9th of December 2017.
