Ghana Atomic Tennis Club, led by Kofi Akrasi Nkansa, last Saturday put up a plucky performance to defeat Hill Club of Cape Coast 7-6 in their friendly tournament played at the Ghana Atomic Tennis Club Courts.
The two teams exhibited exceptional tennis to the admiration of the fans us Atomic Tennis Club won men singles, men’s doubles and Mixed doubles.
The event, started at 7am with the Mixed doubles which saw Veronica/Isaac of Atomic Tennis Club beating Emma/Josephine 7-3
In the men’s doubles,Kyeremateng/Coffie of Hill Club lost to Boniface/Musah 7-2,Nimako/ Amoo from Atomic Tennis Club defeated Nortey/Erskine 7-3 of Hill Club . Atomic Tennis Club’s Godwin /Charles oust Dr. Offei/ Fred 7-3.
The other men’s doubles Heckson/Eduam of Hill Club defeated Charles/ Raymond 7-5. Hill Club’s Willie/ Golo beats Emma/ Dr Tetteh popularly called Swaga7-3.Akaak/Nana lost 6-7 to Kojo/Bondzie with Emma/ Hayford beating Victor/Albert of Atomic Tennis Club.
And also Emmanuel Senyah of Hill Club defeated Albert Nanor of Atomic Tennis Club 7-5. Kojo Gabriel of Hill Club beats Godwin Ayinduah but Kojo Appiah of Atomic Tennis Club whipped Michael Acheampong 7-1.
The match of the day was between George Heckson, aka ‘Abodwe’ of Hill Club was down by 2-6, against Nana Nimako Atomic Tennis Club but Abodwe swwput up a spirited performance to beat his opponent 7-6(8).
Members of Hill Club could not hide their joy when he was put to the test and surmounted the challenge to the admiration of all. Some club members trooped to the court after the game to congratulate Abodwe but the away team Hill Club happiness was short lived us captain of Atomic Tennis Club Kofi Akransi Nkansah defeated Alebah Emmanuel 7-3.
