The kaneshi Club triumphed 7-2 in the singles tournament, but succumbed 1-0 in the doubles event, as the home team grabbed the overall prize in the competition.
Indeed, kaneshie Tennis Club’s, William Kwasi Ammo (Bobo) , Kwabena Kusi , Agbeko Morrtey, David Kisseh, Ransford Mensah, Nana Poku Asare, Ablor Prince, John Fletcher were among the dominant players as the tournament opened with the singles games, even though Isaac Tittriku and Ansah Jacob from Police Depot Tennis Club had shown the potency of their side with similar dominant displays.
The visitors recovered from the energy-sapping exchanges of the sunny morning to dominate the doubles game.
The president of Kaneshie Tennis Club, Ato DesBordes , described the event as very useful for socialization, exercising and networking, and said they were looking forward to host the Ghana Tennis Club Adabraka in honor of their late President who was member of Ghana Tennis Club later in the year.
And at the Nautical Club Tennis court, there was an in-house tournament which was opened with a singles game where Ebo Eshum defeated Peter Lawoe 7-6.
In the doubles tournaments Pinchas paired up with Fred to trash Kojo/Seth 6-0. Kwasi/Yahya beats Quansah/ Badu 6-1. Lawyer kojo/Kenneth ousts Jacob/Fred 7-5, Fergusson/Ossei lost to Kenlove/Kay 4-6.
George’s partner Lawyer Seth retired in the their game us Pincchas/Lawyer kojo were leading 5-1.
