Over 100 tennis players between ages of 12, 14 and 16 from across the country will participate in the maiden edition of Mcdan Open Junior Tennis Championship scheduled from 21st to 26th August 2017 at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts. The Junior Championship was launched at the Stadium Tennis court on Wednesday.

The head of Sales and Marketing of Mcdan group of Companies, Mr Obodei Sai who represented Mr. Mckorley disclosed this yesterday at a media encounter in fulfilling company’s pledge to support Juvenile tennis,we are all looking forward to exciting tennis starting Monday.

 

 

President of Ghana Tennis Federation Isaac Aboakye Duah  said the tournament is expected to serve as a warm up for the upcoming 12 and under African Junior Davis Cup Tourney slated for September 9th 2017.

He further added that championship has the objectives to ensure that young talents are discovered early and nurtured to limelight, while establishing a strong transition platform to the senior, to provide a platform that would attract and enable junior players from all over the country compete and showcase their talents.

He later thanked Mcdan group of companies for bringing back Juvenile tennis tournament which we dead 10years ago. He went on by saying prizes at stake for the youngsters will include tennis equipment as well as educational scholarships.

The sponsors for this year’s McDan Juniors Tennis Open are McDan Group, AfWest Security, Trillium Ghana Ltd and Nationwide Mutual Health Insurance.
