The St. Francis Foundation from Ashaiman became the overall winners in the maiden edition of the Bajfreight Junior Tennis League which ended at the Sakumono Tennis Club last Saturday.
They beat Babo Sports Academy, GHACEM Tennis Club and Sakumono Tennis Club favorites to win the league.
The league which started in February saw St. Francis Foundation players such as Isaac Akuoku, Justice Tiwol, Amos Asante and Kenneth Adjokatse clinching the Boys Under-8, 10, 12, and 14 titles respectively.
Samuel Nyamekye of the Sakumono Tennis Club won the Boys Under-16 category was also adjudged the Overall Best Player of the league.
In his remarks, Shipping Operation Manager of Bajfrieght logistics, Mr Patrick Aniadjei, who represented the CEO, Mr Joe Biney, praised the level of organization of the competition, saying the success of the Bajfrieght Junior Tennis League is a testimony that sports in Ghana is better off being private sector driven.
“The Bajfrieght Logistics will continue to sponsor the Junior league next year” said Mr Aniagyei.
